Shi Zhiwei commits himself fully to each of his works. But he doesn’t call it art, he prefers ‘graffiti’. For him, this ‘graffiti’ is an expression of the meaning of life, albeit impenetrable to other people. Those who do attempt to probe beyond the surface of his works are faced with a powerful, spiritual world. Zhiwei was extremely withdrawn before he started creating these works. Now that he has a means of effectively expressing his feelings, he has become more open and approachable, according to his surroundings.
