Zhou Huiming uses his canvasses as a ‘vessel’ to freely move between his conscious and unconscious existence, between reality and the surreal world. Painting completely consumes his daily life, and he rarely comes into contact with others. Huiming spent many years in the army and worked at a bank. He has painted for nearly his entire life, although everything changed when Huiming became ill. Once he had recovered, his style changed dramatically; his works became considerably more daring and uninhibited.
