Tuula Huusko grew up on a farm in northern Finland. She lived there for twenty-eight years and worked as a childminder. She started to draw at an early age. After moving to Kajaani, marrying and having a child, she attended some art classes, but was not happy with them.
In her later years Tuula Huusko drew frantically. She wanted to become a professional artist. In 2002 she had an exhibition in the Kajaani library. Her drawings feature a whole universe of imaginative ornamental creatures.
