There is a dearth of information concerning Stanislas Lib. During a stint in the psychiatric hospital Saint-Jean de Dieu in Lille, France, he makes oil paintings, framing them himself. The artist privileges erotic scenes in which female figures appear most frequently.
Jean Dubuffet was given only three of Stanislas Lib.’s works by Dr. Paul Bernard, two of which are still part of the Collection de l’Art Brut in Lausanne.
