Pin Fang was shy and withdrawn at primary school, and had difficulty interacting with his peers. Fang learnt to draw as a child by tracing images from instruction manuals. Once he began visiting the studio, he created original works with increasing regularity. After six months of this approach, Fang switched to creating drawings based on photographs that he captures using his mobile phone. He gives free rein to his imagination and emotions. Fang’s works depict a personal, mysterious perception of the world around us. He prefers absolutely no interruptions when he is drawing, and always turns on the radio to drown out stimuli from the outside world.
