This was in 2007. Memories from her youth influence the genitalia and scissors and other images in her drawings. The dubiousness of the idea that human life comes from the womb, disgust towards female and male genitalia, and conversely, an obsession with these things, she says. Drawing seems to help her relax, and it has become an indispensable part of her daily life. Before she started making these drawings, she drew people and animals in a style of illustration like one sees in flyers and posters.
Suzuki’s illness revealed itself when she was in high school, and graduated by completing a correspondence course while commuting to a workshop. She has been commuting to a company and to a local welfare facility.
