Perhaps this is because his state of mind is always moving and his eyes continue to wander. When his drawings gain form, they seem to give him a certain type of self-confidence. When he completes a drawing he smiles, relieved. The result is a personal, bold form, which contrasts sharply to the uncertain, hesitant way of drawing. Those two contrasting elements in his work are also what makes it so appealing.
M.K. lives with his family and goes to a nearby institution for people with intellectual disabilities where he works as papermaker. He makes his art as part of an activity that is organised by the institution twice a month.
