To date we possess no information whatsoever concerning this artist, except that his works date from the eighteenth century. The eight paintings preserved in the Collection de l’Art Brut were executed in gouache.
In 1948, Jean Dubuffet met Edmond Bomsel, a great book lover and a collector pur sang, who gave him a notepad with fourteen works by Joseph Degaudé-Lambert. The paintings presented in 1949 at the Galerie René Drouin were taken from that notepad.
