Since launching his artistic career in 1992, Derk Wessels has built up an impressive oeuvre of exquisite drawings, paintings and linocuts. His work is characterised by accurate lines and a vivid sense of colour. Derk’s work features subjects including strange animals, flowers and landscapes, alive with colour and movement. He celebrated fifteen years working at his studio (Reinaerde Ateliers De Wijde Doelen) with a solo exhibition at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. Nowadays, Derk regularly works on commissions and displays his work at exhibitions.
