Daphne Olivier prefers to draw using oil pastel on paper. She sometimes also uses coloured pencil and Indian ink. Daphne is extremely fond of the animal realm. She draws creatures from her imagination, or based on example images. Daphne works quickly and accurately. Her work is striking due to the clear, black contours, bright, powerful colours, simple shapes and characteristic cropping. This lends her work a graphic quality that is reminiscent of the work of Corneille. In 2011, Daphne participated in the exhibition Bewaren voor Later (Save for Later) at Special Arts in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Her work is also featured in the Special Arts art library programme.
