Dubuffet was very impressed by August Klett’s extensive collection of works. Both Prinzhorn and Dubuffet praised his ‘colour alphabet’ and his water colours on paper. There is a striking parallel between Dubuffet and Klett: both worked in the wine industry, something that Dubuffet recognised in August Klett’s work.
